Getting live
Unpublish hides the public copy. It does not rewind the internet.
After publish, the dashboard visibility tab can take the site back to private, only you in the studio. Use it when the public URL is wrong enough that strangers should not load it. Do not use it as a tantrum button every time a comma is ugly; send a Cipher edit instead. Unpublish will not pull a flyer out of a mailbox or erase Google's memory on a timer we control. This is not cancel-Pro, not delete-account, and not domain-lapse.
Unpublish from visibility when the public slug should stop answering. The studio preview remains for the signed-in account. It does not cancel Pro, refund turns, or delete a domain you bought. Prefer a Cipher fix when the trade is right and only a fact is wrong.
When unpublish is the right move
You published the wrong trade. You published someone else's name. Hours are fiction and people are driving over. You need the QR to go dead while you rebuild.

What stays after unpublish
The brief and the project. Turns already spent. A domain you registered is still yours at the registrar even if the site is dark. Pro can still be billed until you cancel that plan in the account.
Google and unpublish
A live slug may already be known. Taking it private does not guarantee instant SERP removal. Do not promise a customer that yesterday's URL is cosmically gone. Search Central documents crawling, not our dashboard.
How to do it
Open the project. Visibility. Unpublish. Confirm the public hostname no longer serves the business copy.
- Decide if the URL is harmful or merely imperfect
- If imperfect, Cipher-edit
- If harmful, unpublish
- Rebuild privately
- Publish again when a stranger could use it
Cards, QR, GBP
If you already printed, unpublish makes those codes fail. That may be correct. Update GBP later; do not leave a 404 as your brand. The QR tool does not retract ink.
Limits and caveats
Unpublish is visibility. It is not a legal takedown, a chargeback, or a domain delete. Caches exist.
If a sentence would require a competitor SKU we have not verified, or a statistic we did not measure, it does not belong here.

Questions people actually ask
Does unpublish refund Cipher turns?
No. Work already done stays counted.
Will my custom domain still resolve?
DNS may still point at us while the project is unpublished. Treat unpublish as the site going dark, then fix DNS if you need the name to go elsewhere, that is a domains problem.
Is unpublish the same as cancel anytime?
No. Cancel is the Pro subscription. Unpublish is whether the hostname shows the business. Read the cancel page for billing.
Can I schedule unpublish overnight?
No such SKU is listed. Use the visibility control when you mean it.
