SEO for a small site
Primary keyword: HTTP status code checklist SEO · Intent: informational · One URL, one query. Not a city doorway.
A real page returns 200. A gone page returns 404 or 410. Everything to home is not a strategy.
This article is written for people searching HTTP status code checklist SEO (informational intent). It is not a city doorway and not a ranking package. Product facts we will defend: Free is live on you.bizzit.io after Google sign-in, 50 Cipher turns, no daily cap. Pro is $12 a month. First-year domain names bought here carry a 25% markup. We do not invent competitor prices or statistics.
Crawlers trust status codes more than a paragraph that says not found. A 200 with empty copy is a soft 404 waiting to be reported. Soft 404s waste crawl and confuse users who thought they reached a real page. Empty shells should not look like success. Permanent moves should 301 or 308 to the closest equivalent, not to a random blog post that happens to 200. Chains and loops are bugs. Fix them to one hop. Internal links should already point at the final URL. Bizzit will not 301 every deleted SKU to home as a product. That trick trains Google that every miss is the homepage.
Give every public Bizzit URL the status it earned: 200 if it is the page, 301 if it moved for good, 404 or 410 if it is gone. Do not return 200 for empty shells. Do not dump all misses on the homepage. Free is you.bizzit.io. Pro is $12 a month.
The pass
- Spot-check live URLs for 200
- Confirm deleted paths 404
- Confirm old paths 301 once, not twice
- Reject a 200 empty “nothing here” template
- Never 301 all 404s to home
- Watch for 5xx after a deploy
- Fix loops
200
The HTML is the resource. Login walls on a public article are a mistake. Important copy in the first HTML, not only after a script. Tools can need sign-in. Then they are not the same as an article.
301 and 308
HTTP to HTTPS. www to the one host you picked. A retired path to the replacement. One hop.
404 and 410
404 for I never had this. 410 if you want gone for good to be obvious. A useful 404 still has navigation. It must not pretend the URL exists.
5xx
Treat a spike as an incident. Do not leave Googlebot on an 8 second origin. SEO pages should not wait on a heavy worker if we can help it. That is an engineering rule, not a slogan.
Bizzit specifics
Create is not a 200 you want indexed. Preview is private. Tenant 404s should not masquerade as the marketing homepage. Custom domain on Pro must 200 before you put it on GBP.
Limits and caveats
We do not sell log-file analysis as a SKU. You can still look at status codes in a crawler.
If a sentence would require a competitor SKU we have not verified, or a statistic we did not measure, it does not belong here. That is how this library stays useful instead of becoming spun SERP copies.
What Bizzit will and will not do
You describe the business. Cipher builds a site. You preview it. You publish on a Bizzit hostname for free after Google sign-in. Free includes 50 Cipher turns with no daily cap. Pro is $12 a month for unlimited Cipher edits, a custom domain, overnight jobs from the brief, checkout on your payment account, no Bizzit badge. Domain names you buy here show a first-year price with a 25% markup on the registrar wholesale. We do not take a cut of your sales. We are not a CRM, a dispatcher, or a review factory. If a sentence would require us to pretend we shipped a feature we have not shipped, it does not belong on this page.
Cost: the slug is free. The name is $12 a month plus the domain.
Stay on you.bizzit.io until the page is doing work. Twelve months of Pro is $144. The registrar line is separate. Cancel Pro from the account if the month is dead; the domain you bought is still yours to keep or let lapse. Read pricing and cancel anytime before you treat $12 as a personality.
What to do after you read this
If this page answered the query, open Create with the nouns from your own business. Not a slogan. If it did not, you are probably in the wrong cluster: go back to the blog hub or SEO for a small site. Do not spin a second URL for a synonym. One intent per page is the whole point of this library.
Primary keyword for this page: HTTP status code checklist SEO. That is the query we wrote for. Related links below are neighboring intents, not doorway clones.
Tools that actually do this job
These are public pages. Use them when the job is this job. They are not a second product you have to buy.

Questions people actually ask
Is 410 required?
No. 404 is fine for most small sites. 410 is for a deliberate permanent removal.
Can I 302 a permanent move?
Use 301 or 308 if it is permanent. 302 is for temporary.
Soft 404 in Search Console?
Usually a thin or empty 200. Put content or change the status.
Pro?
$12 does not include a CDN we invent. It hosts the site. Status codes still have to be right.
Redirect everything to home to keep juice?
No. That is irrelevant. 404 the miss.
